i don't remember too much about the process of making this puzzle, mostly that it was fun to grid and clue with kate! it was such a different time in my life, i don't know if i'll make a puzzle like this again

i used ms word for the eyes, mouth, and bubbles

the seeds were the lines from clueless (1995) that were memorable to me and overall, i wanted to express insecurity

3A - PALAK: my favorite 💚💚💚 one of my earliest memories is me eating spinach and being in awe of how amazing it tastes. i especially love palak paneer

8A - LIBRA: i find it interesting that libra and aquarius are both said to be co-ruled by saturn (the other rulers of libra and aquarius are known as venus and uranus respectively) - saturn rules capricorn

44A - ZINGERS: i'm on rocco's side

60A - BABA: "Shakarganj" means something like 'treasure of sugar', i haven't read as much on Baba Farid as i'd like to ~ something that's interesting for me to learn about is how he was respected across different religious/cultural groups in south asia

2D - SARI: there was a ban on wearing saris at the time, horrible to learn about
