this puzzle has the same diamond shaped layout of the first crossword puzzle by arthur wynne

i filled it without using a computer/wordlist which was a little challenging but fun and doable cause the puzzle's small. given that it's hand filled , the words may not be the freshest - i'm viewing it as a sort of free association exercise as i just put in whatever came to mind at the moment

    Good fill! Would have been nice to have the 4 unchecked squares be the same or NESW or some other way to check them. Felt odd to have 21D's clue contain 21A's answer, but overall I enjoyed the clues

      ooh i didn't catch the 21 A/D thing when clueing , whoops !
      yeah, i would have liked the unchecked squares to be linked in some way too, maybe next time i do something like this
