spoilers ahead ~

this is my first blog post, though not the first crossword puzzle i've made, i think it's the third or fourth. i was aiming for a butterfly shape, but had 180 degree rotational symmetry preserved so it was hard to achieve. 

below are some of the entries/clues i liked in no particular order:

8-Down:  OLMEC (ancient people known for their colossal head statues)

i bet these are really cool to see in person

5-Down:  DANI  (group of languages with two colors for words)~ i love learning about language differences, learning about this made me wonder what my life would be like with two color words especially cause i like to paint and observe color often 

9-Down:  SUN  (__ salutation)

i remember doing surya namaskar in the mornings when i was in high school, maybe i should start again

46-Across:  SANRIO  (hello kitty, chococat, & cinnamoroll maker)

23-Down:  BAO  (pixar short by domee shi)

i really recommend watching this, it's so sweet and animated so well, the dumplings look so appetizing 

2-Down:  MADDER  (angry rose?)

i included this because i love the way 'rose madder' sounds ! i also learned 'madder rose' is the name of a band, i haven't listened to their music but i love their name
